All accepted abstracts will be eligible for presentation at IDS 2025 for the Chellaram Foundation Diabetes Research Award; however, owing to limitations, only well-structured original abstracts selected by the scientific committee will be considered for publication in the abstract issue of Chronicle of Diabetes Research and Practice.

Dr. Viral Shah is a Faculty at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes (BDC), and a former recipient of a Ludeman Center Faculty Development Award. Dr. Shah’s research is focused on using technologies and newer therapies to improve glucose control in type 1 diabetes and diabetes and understanding the mechanisms of bone fragility in older adults with type 1 diabetes. Dr. Shah is currently serving as communication director for ‘American Diabetes Association Diabetes Technology Interest Leadership’. Dr. Shah is the PI of an NIH funded study on Bone Health in Adults with Type 1 Diabetes.
